The following individuals were presented by nominating committee at the May 19, 2012 Board and General Membership meeting and approved for inclusion on the 2012 ballot:



In accordance to the SAMSOG’s by-laws, ballots will be mailed to corporate members by June 1st and must be post marked no later than June 25th and returned in the envelope mailed with the ballot.

Candidate Profiles


Robert N. Shupe graduated with honors from Southern Technical Institute in 1978 and obtained his license as a Georgia Registered Land Surveyor in 1982. In 1988, he opened a land surveying business and is the current president of Shupe Surveying Company, P.C. in Brunswick, Georgia. Mr. Shupe has held many positions with the Surveying and Mapping Society of Georgia and is currently the immediate past president. Mr. Shupe is a member of the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping. He currently holds the office of County Surveyor for Glynn County.  
I live in Forsyth, Georgia with my wife Michelle and we have two great children, Daniel (14) and Keith (24). I am employed by Jacobs Engineering and work as a Survey Project Manager. We are a full service surveying and engineering firm and I am based in the McDonough office. I manage many types of surveying projects which include boundary surveys, topographical surveys, ALTA/ACSM land title surveys, As-Built surveys, rezoning maps, final plats and route surveys.
My formal education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science and an Associate of Science in Surveying and Mapping. I hold professional registrations in Georgia #2851 and South Carolina #22750.  I have been active in SAMSOG since 1994 having served as the Southern Crescent Chapter Representative from 2002-2006, the Membership and Chapter Development chairman in 2005-2006 and Public Relations Co-Chairman 2007-2009. I was awarded the Outstanding Service Award in July 2005 and July 2007 and was an organizer and participant of the “Big Hike” fundraiser in April 2007. I served on the Board of Directors from 2008-2010 and currently serve as the secretary for the Southern Crescent Chapter.
Kayle attended Southern Polytechnic Institute for all his classes required for licensure. Kayle received his Georgia Land Surveyor license in January 2006. He has worked for Planners and Engineers Collaborative and Cowherd Land Surveying and is presently the Survey Manager for ABE Consulting in Watkinsville, GA. Kayle has served as President of the Piedmont Chapter and has held the Chapter Rep position several times and is currently holding that position. Kayle and his wife, Jamie, reside in Greene County, GA.
Teeple Hill is a principal in Shupe Surveying Company, P.C. and has over 11 years of experience in surveying and mapping. Teeple has worked on a wide array of projects including residential and commercial development, military, government, industrial and institutional projects, large acreage boundary surveys and individual lot surveys. He has experience with boundary, subdivision, wetland, salt marsh, topographic, hydrographic, construction staking, route surveys, ALTA/ASCM Land Title surveys and FEMA Flood Elevation certificates and LOMAs. Prior to joining Shupe Surveying, Teeple served as the survey department manager of Thomas & Hutton Engineering Co.’s Brunswick office and was the owner of CT Hill and Associates, LLC.
Russell graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology with an emphasis in Physical Anthropology (archaeology). After working in archaeology for several years, he began his career in surveying. He later acquired a surveying certificate from Southern Polytechnic State University and has been a Registered Land Surveyor since 2010. Russell is active in the Foothills Chapter and serves as the Chapter Representative. Russell is a Little League Baseball coach and enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family. He lives in Jasper with his wife Nicole, and their two sons, Sean and Stephen. He can be reached at (678)859-0035 or via e-mail at 
Lonnie Sears has over 27 years of Geodetic Surveying experience. Mr. Sears has performed GPS Control Surveys in six Southeastern states and integrated DGPS, RTK and Static Survey methods into daily surveying tasks.  His background was devoted to developing GPS Surveying techniques for GIS inventory projects, DOT projects, private land development projects, Large Boundary Surveys, ALTA/ACSM Surveys and Topographic Surveys. He is currently licensed in Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, Florida,Mississippi and Tennessee. Mr. Sears is an owner and President of eGPS Solutions and is an owner of Champion Instruments who manufactures and integrates GNSS equipment for Land Surveyors. Mr. Sears is married with 3 children and lives in Dacula, Georgia. He is a graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology with a degree in Civil/Survey Technology.
