I grew up close by. Mosquitoes are common throughout the area at all time of the year if one is close to swamps and bodies of water. They are least common in Winter, but still around. If they go, take a look at the crude dugout canoe in the mill house. A friend of mine and I hacked it out of a poplar tree that had blown over in the Summer of 1968. It turned out to be difficult to handle and flipped over easily, so we gave it to the park when that was established.
