<p style="margin-bottom: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 18px;"><span style="color: black;"><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span>Having said that, I consider his essay “The Judicial Functions of Surveyors” to be a little overrated by surveyors.<span>&nbsp; </span>It is worthwhile reading but there are any number of appellate decisions, including some by Cooley, that I believe have greater insights and show greater wisdom about boundary surveying than “Judicial Functions.”<span>&nbsp; </span>My mindset may result from the way I was taught surveying in college, in that I was taught by attorneys using appellate decisions.<span>&nbsp; </span>Cooley opens his address as follows:</span></span></p>
