<p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;"><b>RE:</b> Deactivation of Online Surveying Programs at Middle Georgia State College (Degree: Associate of Science Degree in Surveying and Certificate: Certificate of Surveying)</p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;"><b>Applies to:</b> Current Students, Former Students and Prospective Students in Surveying at Middle Georgia State College (MGSC)</p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;"><b>Information: </b></p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;"><b><span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span>Current Student Base: </b>Currently, MGSC has 25+ active students in the two existing programs.</p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt 0.5in;"><b>Action: </b>The MGSC faculty Senate based on the recommendation of the MGSC Academic Affairs committee voted on December 5, 2014 to deactivate the surveying programs at MGSC. The official reason given for the deactivation was low enrollment. </p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt 0.5in;"><b>History:</b> Since 1994, 1058+ students have taken courses in surveying at MGSC, 300+ students have completed all courses at MGSC required for licensure, 127+ students have become Registered Land Surveyors and 114+ students have received the LSIT certification. (Final ICAPP Report: 2008) </p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;"><b>Important Deadlines: </b></p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt 0.5in;"><b>Current Students: </b>Current students will receive a program teach-out map during this semester, Spring 2015. These students will need to complete their teach-out program by the Summer Semester of 2017.</p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt 0.5in;"><b>Former Students wishing to complete programs:</b> These former students will need to re-apply as soon as possible and become an active registered student by Summer 2015 (May 14, 2015) and complete their program by Summer Semester 2017.</p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt 0.5in;"><b>Prospective Students: </b>Prospective students must apply as soon as possible and be an active registered student by Summer 2015 (May 14, 2015) and complete their program by Summer Semester 2017.</p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt 0.5in;"><b>Ending Program:</b> No new students will be accepted into the program beginning with the Fall 2015 Semester and the last semester of any surveying course offering at MGSC will be Summer 2017.<span>&nbsp; </span><span>&nbsp;</span></p>
