There are many exciting sightseeing tours for everyone to experience while in Savannah. Among them are a fully narrated overview of the history of Savannah, another is a Ghost tour for you to journey into the dark side of America’s most haunted city. You may want take a walking tour to explore the beautiful park-like squares or stroll along River Street and City Market for many stylish shops and a variety of restaurants. The Hilton Savannah DeSoto Room Block is almost SOLD OUT and the per room rate depending on the night you select is $210-$239

If you cannot reserve the room(s) you need at the Hilton DeSoto rooms have been blocked for SAMSOG meeting attendees at the B Historic Hotel – 320 Montgomery Street - .  B Historic is in the historic district and is less than a 10 minute walk from the Hilton DeSoto. Cost per Standard room (Double Queen beds or King) $149 + tax + parking (valet $28 per night) weekdays and $229 + tax + parking (valet $28 per night) weekends; including Friday evening.  This ROOM BLOCK WILL EXPIRE JULY 5TH, 2017.

 AUXILIARY LUNCH & PROGRAM

This year will mark the 12th Annual Women’s Auxiliary Luncheon during the Annual Meeting and Summer Convention. Our special day will begin with a delicious sit down luncheon at the hotel on Friday, July 21st beginning at 11:30 a.m.  After lunch, we will have a young and talented artist show us how to paint beautiful floral or coastal images on our own souvenir goblet to take home. There will also be additional goblets available for those who want to paint a set, for an additional fee. Our special guest will be Emily Edwards of 3E Artistry in Savannah. This event is child appropriate with parental supervision.  Please take advantage of this fun artistic learning experience.


CLAY SPORTING EVENT

SPONSORED BY THOMAS and HUTTON

Join your fellow surveyors and friends at the oldest continuously operated gun club in America.  Formed in 1883 and chartered in 1901 as a private club, Forest City Gun Club has a proud and rich tradition in shooting sports.  The Club’s shooting facilities include 32 skeet fields, 28 trap fields, 2 lighted five stands, dove tower and 2 championship sporting clays courses.  The sporting clays courses are not only golf cart accessible, but also have adequate parking for both shooters and spectators alike.  Your ticket to this event will include 100 targets, ammunition to shoot a sporting clays course, and a BBQ lunch catered by Sandfly BBQ.  Additional services are available for purchase (see list below).  For more information on Forest City Gun Club, visit www.forestcitygunclub.com. 

 

COST:  $80 for 100 targets, ammunition to shoot the course, and BBQ lunch catered by Sandfly BBQ. 

 

TRANSPORTATION:  Transportation is on your own, however, participants will meet in the DeSoto Hilton lobby at 8:00 AM and carpool or leave together, 8:30 AM the club will review safety procedures, divide teams, etc. and the shoot will begin at 9:00 AM.  The club is 20 minutes from the Hilton Savannah DeSoto hotel.
